What does it take to create an epic overland expedition<\/a>? <\/strong>It could be as adventurous as crisscrossing the deserts of the Middle East<\/a> by motorcycle, road tripping across Siberia by vintage automobile, following in the 1908 tire tracks of a pioneering motorist. Or it might be as enterprising as traversing the alluring lands of the Silk Road through China<\/a>, Central Asia<\/a>, and the South Caucasus<\/a> in Land Rovers, a modern-day variation of a camel caravan.<\/p>\n\n\n

More than thirty years ago, MIR began creating custom journeys<\/a> for the most intrepid of travelers <\/strong>venturing to the territory of the U.S.S.R. Today, we continue to craft tours to places that are far from the familiar, spanning our territory at the crossroads of Europe, Asia, and the Middle East including Central Asia<\/a>, the South Caucasus<\/a>, Eastern Europe<\/a>, across the Arabian Peninsula<\/a> and beyond.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is one thing to witness the wonders of a new country, hear a different language, eat unfamiliar foods, or sip tea with locals. It is a completely different thing to be the one backstage overseeing the details of that epic journey. Such logistical expertise is what we love to do. It is especially challenging \u2013 and satisfying \u2013 to plan and oversee imaginative overland expeditions.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

An Epic Family Road-Trip  <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

These long-time MIR travelers have taken the concept of \u201cepic journey\u201d and truly turned it into a family affair<\/strong>, traveling from two to five months on average each year in their Land Rovers, with sometimes dozens of friends and family joining them in their latest adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
